Transponder-Reader (COL-10) with external antenna (70 x 50 mm and only 1,6mm thick) and one disc- and one glass-tube transponder.
The train-number identification system TrainDetect makes it possible to identify every train automatically.
The trains have to be equipped with transponders and on strategic convenient identification locations transponder readers COL-10 have to be assembled. The readers have a flat external antenna of 1,6mm thickness. These has to be assembled near the track. The maximum reading distance is 40mm, provided that the Readers COL-10 get the power supply of 14 to 16 Volt AC from a model railway transformer. The reading distance will increase by about 50% if the transponder readers get the supply of 13,5 Volt DC from the plug-in power supply device SNG-10.

The train number information of at most 31 Transponder-Reader COL-10 will be transfered at the above sample by an Interface TrainDetect-88 (TD-88) via the s88-feedback bus to the PC. At the above sample connection get the Readers COL-10 the AC supply of 14 to 18 Volt from a model railway transformer.

the The black cable at the output of the plug-in power supply device is of negative polarity and has to be connected to the input "brown" of the of the supply clamp KL2 of the Readers COL-10. The black cable with a white mark is of positive polarity and has to be connected to the input "yellow" of the Readers COL-10. Each plug-in power supply device SNG-10 can supply up to 10 Transponder Reader COL-10. |

| The reader antenna has been assembled at a shadow railway station. The disc-transponder have to be simply glued onto every loc body. This is possible on loc bodies made of plastic. The antenna will "float" about 2 cm above the locs. | A glass-tube transponder has been attached between the buffers of a loc. The transponder has been attached to a toothpick which lays accross the buffers to assure that the metal buffers will not reduce the reading sensitivity. The transponder and the support can be visually concealed by use of a little black paint. The antenna has been assembled at a distance of 2,5cm from the HO-track center for example at the entrance of a tunnel. |

| Glass-tube transponders have to be attached below the goods of a freight waggon or inside a passenger waggon. The distance of the antenna from the center of the HO-track shall be 2,5cm (e.g. at tunnel entrances). | Disc-transponder have to be attached at the center of freight or passenger cars or glued onto the inside of one side wall. The distance of the antenna from the center of the HO-track shall be 2,5cm (e.g. at tunnel entrances). |
