NEW  Configuration of the HSI-88 within Railroad & Co. TrainController™  NEW

Set up of the HSI-88 within the TrainController™:

At first please call the command "Setup Digital Systems" at the menu "Railroad". TrainController™ will open the dialog screen "Connected Digital Systems":

Now activate the option "Add...". TrainController™ opens now the dialog screen "Digital System":

At this screen please select at "Select Digital System" the entry "LDT HSI-88". At he entry field "Select Port" enter the name of the serial interface port where you connected the HSI-88. Now confirm with the button "OK". If, for example, the  HSI-88 will be used as supplement to an Intellibox from Uhlenbrock the complete configuration has to be set up as shown below:

Please notice that the name of the serial interface port can be different to the above because it has to refer to your individual situation at your system. By activating the option "Change..." you can change the selected entry field at any time.

After creating a symbol for a contact sensor at TrainController™ register the address of the contact sensor with the command "Properties" at the menu "Edit". At the shown dialog screen "Contact Indicator" you have to select the register file "Connection". Now select under "Digital System" an entry for a S88-compatible module at the respective bus. If the feedback sensor has been connected e.g. to a S88-module at the left bus of the HSI-88 please select the entry "LDT HSI-88 – S88-compatible module in Left Bus" as shown below:

Further please enter at "Address" the number (1 to 32) of the S88-feedback module of the selected bus as well as under "Input" the number (1 to 16) of the input where the respective feedback sensor has been connected to the module.

Remarks: To assure a correct function of the HSI-88 is it required to register the number of modules connected to each line or bus at the HSI-88. It is not necessary to enter the respective numbers separately into the program. TrainController™ will calculate this details individually on the base of the data entered into the program and will configurate the HSI-88 accordingly.

Register a transponder reader device which has been connected via the TD-88:

A transponder reader device which has been connected via the TD-88 to the HSI-88 will be similar registered at the TrainController™ as a standard feedback sensor. Also for this registration is it required to create at first a symbol for a contact sensor at the program. But at the register file "Connection" select under "Digital System" an entry for a TD-88 at the respective bus (e.g. "TD-88 in Middle Bus"). At the entry field "Address" enter the module address of the TD-88 at the respective bus (1 to 32). The number of the reading device (1 to 16) connected to this TD-88 has to be registered at the entry field "Input".

Define the transponder address for a locomotive:

The transponder address of a locomotive will be determined by moving the respective locomotive under control of the computer via a reading device. The procedure will be initiated for this loc via the registration file "Connection" of the dialog "Properties". Select now at "Train Detection" under "System" the entry for "LDT HSI-88". Call now the option "Adjust..." and follow the instructions shown at the screen.

Please take into account that you can carry out this procedure only when the computer has been connected to a reader and the respective locomotive will be available. If the transponder address has been successful identified this will be indicated by a green check mark next to the option "Train ID" (look at the above picture).
