The speed measurement device is a real measuring unit
for the responsible hobby model railroader!

It's not easy to estimate the realistic speed of your model train and very often trains are breaking the speed limit on your model railroad.

Although the maximum speed of the real train is well known, it's not easy to adjust the speed of model trains in accordance with these scales.

But now TrainSpeed allows the speed of your model train to be measured - at a very competitive price! TrainSpeed is ablev to measure the speed for all scales and will display the speed in accordance to either the scale or to the model train standard NEM 661.

TrainSpeed measures the time your train drives between two contacts, which are activated by the train itself. Then, from the distance between the two contacts and the model scale TrainSpeed will compute the speed of the model and display it in km/h or mph (miles per hour).

There can be switch-rails or switch-contacts (reed-contacts also named as SRK) used as supplied by the manufacturer of your track material.

Such components are eventually already implemented to your layout as turnout- and signal control or track occupancy monitoring.

The advantage of TrainSpeed is that standard components can be used, which can be installed onto the rails without disturbing the realistic view of your model railway by outsized transducer at your layout terrain.

The distance between the contacts can be up to two meters. For scale H0 a distance of 10 to 20 cm is sufficient.

The length of the measuring distance (distance between both contacts) and the applicated model scale (Z, N, TT, H0, 00, S, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) can be easy adjusted by two keys.

These data will be stored permanently and TrainSpeed will remember all settings when you switch TrainSpeed on next time.

Once the train-speed has been measured, it will be shown on the display until the next train crosses the measuring trail. TrainSpeed will measure the speed of all trains regardless of their direction when crossing the contacts.
